In my last blog post, I talked about God building a foundation in your life with longevity in mind during the so called dry season in your life. Mediating on this more and more, I begin to do research on dry seasons. I came across a study on the difference between a rainy season and a dry season in a rain forest. Surprisedly, this study showed that trees in the rain forest were worse off in the rainy season. In the rainy season is when many leaves die, but relatively few new ones are produced. But in the dry season it is quite different. In the dry season the trees thrive; far more new leaves are produced than are shed, allowing the tree to benefit from the season’s increased sunlight. In the dry season they thrive! Seems a little bizarre that the trees would thrive in the dry season.
