Preparation

I say this because I know the plans that I have for you.  This message is from the Lord.  "I have good plans for you.  I don't plan to hurt you  I plan to give you hope and a good future." Jeremiah 29:11   Do any of you have that one friend who is always late for something? It never fails that you will call them and they will say, “Girl I’m almost there” or “I’m about to get in the car now.” I have a friend just like this and as I wait on her knowing that she hasn’t even stepped foot out the house I may make a few minor changes to myself to prepare for her arrival. I may curl a few pieces in my hair, touch up my makeup, and glance in the minor about twenty more times. Now I know that my friend is on the way because we’ve made plans, but I have to wait on her arrival. So as I wait I continue to get ready. God has plans for your life as well and you’re probably waiting on them to be manifested. But unlike your friend, God is...

Not Even Yours

"The Lord himself will fight for you.  Just stay calm.” Exodus 14:14 A lot of times situations in your life don’t come from you not doing something right or not. Some times a situation in your life doesn’t cause for you to take any action at all. Some situations in your life just cause for you to take your position in Christ and stand still. God is always with you and in the test of trials, disappointments, and setbacks, God wants you to not worry but to trust in Him. In those situations you may become afraid but what do you do from there? In the Bible, Jehoshaphat, King of Judah became afraid when he received word that a great army was going to attack him and his people. The Bible says Jehoshaphat became afraid but he didn’t slumber in his fear. "Jehoshaphat became afraid, and he decided to ask the Lord what to do. He announced a time of fasting for everyone in Judah (2 Chronicles 20:3)." Jehoshaphat knew he didn’t have the man power to win this battle b...

Regular

So the LORD must wait for you to come to him  so he can show you his love and compassion.  For the LORD is a faithful God.  Blessed are those who wait for his help  (Isaiah 30:18) If you know me then you know one of my favorite places to eat lunch is McAlister’s Deli. I am a regular at McAlister’s and every time I visit I get the exact same thing, a bowl of vegetable cheddar soup and a side chef salad with two things of extra balsamic vinaigrette dressing. They usually always put only one thing of dressing in my bag, so I always ask for more dressing. One day I ordered this exact same order and as I always do I looked in the bag to make sure I had enough balsamic vinaigrette dressing and the employee says, “They have already put the extra two things of balsamic vinaigrette dressing in the bag.” I looked up at her and smile while saying “Thank you.” As I walked out I felt God tell me, “That’s exactly how I want to move in your life.”  I tel...

Never Stop Looking to Jesus

We must never stop looking to Jesus.  He is the leader of our faith, and he is the one who makes our faith complete.  He suffered death on a cross.  But he accepted the shame of the cross as if it were nothing  because of the joy he could see waiting for him.  And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne.  Hebrews 12:2 In John chapter 5, you read the story of when Jesus healed a lame man. The Bible says, that inside the city near the Sheep Gate was the pool of Bethesda. Crowds of sick people would lie near this pool to get in and receive healing when the water bubbled up. One of the men lying there had been sick for 38 years. John 5:6 says, “When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, He asked him, “Would you like to get well?” The sick man replied, “I can’t sir, for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” Jesus then told him to stand ...

Ride It Out

But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed but wants everyone to repent." 2 Peter 3:8-9 As a child, you can remember going on family road trips, which consisted of long hours, stuck in a car with occasional stops at resting areas and food joints. During that trip your favorite four words to ask were, “Are we there yet?” You would occasionally doze off into a deep sleep only to awaken and find that you hadn’t reached your destination. As you slept or sat waiting restlessly you probably missed out on all the cool things to view on a road trip. For instance, you probably missed the horses and cows grazing through a field or the beautiful lake you had to bypass in route to your destination. Much like children we as adults have t...
