My Delight Is In Her

"Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. (Isaiah 62:4).” Reading this scripture I felt overwhelmed with joy over the thought of just how much God loves us. The word Hephzibah in that scripture means "my delight is in her." Put your name in place of her. My delight is in __________! How awesome is it to know that God’s delight (joy or extreme satisfaction) is in you. God takes great joy in you. When he looks at you, He says you bring Him great pleasure. Yes its cool to have material things, it's great to have the boyfriend or the family and friends to affirm us but it's even better to know that God affirms us. Not only that, but the thought of you brings Him so much joy that He thought you were worth Him sending His only Son to die on the cross. The Bible says, “And may you have the power...

Jealous Much?

Have you ever been secretly jealous of someone? You know that look you give or the roll of the eyes as you read someone's post on  Facebook  or Instagram about their accomplishment or achievement. Maybe you're jealous of the coworker who just received a promotion and you feel like you deserved the promotion more. Maybe you're jealous of the person you feel is walking in their God given assignment and you're still sitting at home trying to figure out the next step. If you're familiar with Saul then you may remember him as the king who was extremely jealous of David. David had God’s favor over his life and Saul was very envious of this. No matter what David did God’s favor was upon him and Saul hated David even more. Saul’s jealousy would cause him to attempt to kill David on several oc...

God Wants to Blow Our Minds

I’ve even blogged about this particular scripture before. While reading my devotion this scripture was one referenced and I thought to myself, “I really don’t want to read this again.” However, this time I decided to read it in the amplified version which always helps give me a deeper revelation of the Bible.   “Now the Lord God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—a counterpart who is] suitable and complementary for him.” 19  So the Lord God formed out of the ground every animal of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a li...
