God Got You

Lately, I've been reading about Moses and the Israelites and I'm amazed at how through the most difficult situations God always shows himself to be true. In many scriptures in this story it's says God hardened Pharaoh's heart. Why would God allow his people to go through years of oppression and abuse at the hands of the Egyptians? Well, its the same reason God allows certain things to happen in our lives. Whether we put ourselves in certain predicaments or not, God allows certain things to happen for a reason. If you're not familiar with Moses and the Israelites, I suggest you go back and read this amazing story in Exodus. However for the sake of getting to the meat of things, in Exodus 9 verse 13 we're at a point in the story where God has been sending all of these different plagues to Egypt but yet and still Pharaoh will not let the Israelites go. The Lord tells Moses to tell Pharaoh, "By now I could have lifted my hand and struck you and your people ...

I Can't See It

By an act of faith, Abraham said yes to God’s call to travel to an unknown place that would become his home. When he left he had no idea where he was going. By an act of faith he lived in the country promised him, lived as a stranger camping in tents (Hebrews 11:8-10)     I've been dealing a lot lately with maintaining my faith in God's promises even when I don't see evidence of them manifesting. This morning, God woke me up a hour earlier than usual. I rolled about in my bed still feeling a little discouraged about God's timing and faith in the things He has promised me. Just like any other morning before I get out of bed I pulled out my phone and scrolled down my Bible app. God then took me to the story of Abraham in Genesis chapter 12. What's amazing to me about the story of Abram who's name is later changed to Abraham is how God instructed him to, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and ...

Just Do It

So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him. Genesis 6:22 How amazing is it when you do exactly what God instructs you to do even before you see the fruit of His promises. God may have told you to put down a certain relationship or friendship. He may have told you to start a ministry or to just be kind to a specific co-worker at your job before you even see why He's instructing you to do these things. In Genesis 6, Noah was obedient before he even saw a flood in sight. What I love about Noah is that he didn't ask any questions, he just obeyed! I believe that we ask God too many questions! "Well God if I do that how will you do this or if I do this how will you do that?" What I want us to do is to stop asking God how He will do something! Stop asking God how He will accomplish what He's already promised you. Your job is to obey Him and have faith that if He told you to do something rest assure that He...
