Weaving Through Life

The LORD says,
"I will guide you along
the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.
Psalm 32:8

Usually on my commute to work in the morning, I'm always greeted with tons of traffic. Being the person that I am, I jump from one lane to the next trying to get to work on time. Have you ever jumped from one lane to the next only to watch as the cars in the previous lane you were in passed you? This happens to me every single morning. How many of us are like that in our own lives? We're in one lane and we're looking at the next lane and we see it going faster, so we jump in that lane only to be slowed down even more? How many of us can honestly say that we're staying in our own lane when it comes to our lives? Are you jumping from one thing to the next because you see it work for someone else? Some of us are jumping from one lane to the next, one task to the next, one business venture to the next or even from one occupation to next and still not getting anywhere any faster.

I say all of this to say that we have to stay in the lane that God has for us. God has already laid out a path for each and everyone of us to follow. God has already equipped us with everything we need to travel the road that He has prepared for us. Are we taking the road that God has for us or are we telling God that we're going to take another road or do things a different way because we think we will have quicker results? We have to trust God more! You see we have to trust that He has us in the palm of His hands. We have to trust that He will never leave us. We have to believe that God wants us to get to our designated place and fulfill our purpose, but He doesn't want us rushing to do it. God doesn't want us doing things that we see others doing. A lot of us are doing things in our own strength. God wants us to trust that He is in control. We’re suppose to trust that everything will happen according to His will. Instead of jumping from one lane to the next, God is saying, “let me show you how its done.” God is saying, “stay in this lane, let me guide you, let me push you, let me take control.” The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you (Psalm 32:8)”.

The Bible says, he will guide you along the best pathway for your life. Not your mom, not your dad, not your friends, but YOUR life. God wants you to listen to Him. A lot of us are still in the same predicament we were in last year because we're not listening to Him. We’re not getting to that quiet place asking God, “alright what is it that you want me to do? “What am I suppose to be doing in order to get to the path that you have for me, instead of jumping from one thing to the next.” We have to get to a place where we say, “Alright God regardless of what I see, I’m going to remain steadfast. Regardless of how fast I see the lane next to me going, I'm going to trust you. I'm going to stay steadfast knowing that if you have me in a certain position or lane right now its because you want me here." Some of us are not letting God move. Some of us are taking things into our own hands. The Bible says, "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain (I Corinthians 15:58).

We wonder why certain things aren’t happening for us in our lives. This is because you're not steadfast on His word. You're letting everything distract you. You’re letting everything throw you off your game. If we can just learn to stay in the lane God has for us I know God will show out in our lives. I believe God is saying, “I’ll do for you what you can't do for yourself. Let me tell you when to get over. Let me tell you what to do because you don't see what I see. You don't see the car that's going to break suddenly but I do. You don’t see the attacks of the enemy but I do." God wants to show us what he has for us. He wants to give us what He has already ordained for us to possess. The scripture says, “Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come (Jeremiah 33:3).” If we can just tap into this truth I know we will see our lives forever change for the better.

Don't Cash Out on Your Blessing

My favorite pizza spot is Domino's Pizza. So much so, I worked there in high school for about....seven months. That's a pretty long time for a high school student in my opinion. Talking to my friend about life situations, he randomly asked me if I had ever heard the story of the brothers who owned Domino's Pizza. I'll be honest with you and say, "although I worked for Domino's Pizza I never took the time to learn their history." So of course my response to him was a big fat "no." Well, in 1960 two brothers by the name of Tom Monoghan and James purchased DomiNicki, a pizza store in Michigan. After just eight months of taking over the ailing pizza store, James wanted out. He owned 50% of the business and cashed out by trading his half to his brother Tom for a Volkswagon Beetle the brothers had bought as a delivery car. In 1965, Tom renamed the business Domino's Pizza. Two years later, the first Domino's Pizza franchise store opened. B...

Worth the Wait

So I've had braces a little over a year now and if you've had braces before you know the struggle can become real, especially after a visit from getting them tighten. Having your braces adjusted can cause some mild pain and discomfort, since it puts pressure on your teeth. As the teeth are under pressure, bones and tissues are breaking down. The teeth and their supporting structures are then able to begin moving again, continuing the process of slowly moving the teeth into their desired positions. I'm able to tolerate the shifting, discomfort and pain because I know the pressure is for my good. Every now and then I find myself examining my teeth to see if any progress has been made. In some places, I see an enormously amount of change. Other areas, not so much but I know something is happening.  As I examine what I think to be slow progression, I begin to think of the change and seasons in my own life. How much is my life evolving? When will this happen or when wi...

Just Right!

Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him." Genesis 2:18 "You're so pretty, smart, and career oriented but why are you single? What's wrong with you? You must be picky!" As a 24 year old who will be 25 in a couple of weeks, I've been hearing this a lot lately. So much that when I go to my quiet place I ask myself, "is the reason that I'm single because I'm picky?" I was taken to Genesis 2 in my reading time one morning and I read, "Then the LORD God said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him (Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬ NLT)." I kept reading this verse because I realized that even in the beginning God desired so much for us! Even down to us not being alone. God is not blind to the fact that man doesn't want to be alone. He even said that it wasn't good. In the second portion of that same scr...
